Comfortable titrating the following medications: Argatroban, Digoxin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Dofetilde, Dopamine, Esmolol, Lasix, Insulin, Labetalol, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Nicardipine, Nitroglycerine, Sotalol, Tirofiban.
Description:
The position is for a Registered Nurse in the PCU.
This is a teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma designation.
The unit has 28 beds with an average census of 26.
Patient types include those with Acute Coronary Syndrome, heart failure, NSTEMI/STEMI, and chest pain.
Additional diagnoses include post-cardiac catheterization, arrhythmia management, and vascular conditions.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5, supported by a CNA.
Support within the department includes CNAs for vital signs and blood glucose checks, as well as reception and charge nurse support.
Peripheral blood draws are performed by the nursing staff.
Respiratory therapy is available 24/7.
Clientists and intensivists are also available around the clock.
Telemetry monitoring is handled by the nursing staff on each shift.
The unit is equipped with an electronic medical record system and various monitoring equipment.
The expectation is teamwork and a family atmosphere within the unit.
