Position Summary: Seeking a Med-Surg/Telemetry RN to independently prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care for acutely ill patients, under the supervision of a nurse leader. This role uses the full nursing process — assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation — per ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the California Nurse Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and document patient data, interpret assessment findings, and identify physiological or psychosocial risk factors
• Collaborate with patient, family, and the care team to develop and implement individualized plans of care
• Establish nursing diagnoses and evaluate/revise care plans as needed
• Anticipate and manage rapidly changing patient conditions, activating emergency protocols when needed
• Coordinate care activities with nurses, physicians, and Advanced Practice Providers
• Adhere to infection control, medication administration, and controlled substance protocols
• Float to the Definitive Observation Unit (DOU) as needed — required for all staff on this unit

Requirements:

• Active, unrestricted California RN license
• 3 years of experience required
• NIHSS certification required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor's preferred)

Shift: 2 Day shifts/week, 12hr, 36 hrs/week (part-time)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 11/02/2026
