Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Contract Details

• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: ASAP
• Experience required: Minimum 2 years
• First-time travelers: Not accepted

• Radius rule: Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
• License: Alaska RN license required in hand for auto-offer. Pending licenses may be accepted for submission, but processing can take 10–12 weeks.

Shift Details

• Available shifts: 3×12-hour days or 4×10-hour days
• Shift times: Either 6:45 AM–7:15 PM or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM
• Shift start times may vary.
• Weekend requirement: Yes; the exact weekend rotation is not specified.
• On-call: Limited to coverage for call-offs.
• Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per two weeks.
• Cancellation: The facility may call off one 12-hour shift per two weeks.
• Block scheduling: Not available.
• Floating: May float to similar units, other hospital units, or nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 2 years of OR nursing experience.
• Previous travel experience is required.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Must have experience with a broad range of operating room procedures.
• Trauma Level I experience is preferred.
• Experience with orthopedic, neurological, general, vascular, gynecological, ENT, urology, and other surgical procedures is relevant.

Documents and Submission Requirements

• Current resume with complete work history.
• Valid Alaska RN license, or pending license if permitted for submission.
• BLS certification and copies of other certifications.
• Specific Epic charting experience.
• SSN and DOB must be included at submission, according to the facility's stated compliance requirements.
• Two professional references covering one year of work experience within the last three years are required during compliance and before the start date.

Important Restrictions

• Only one location within the specified regional facilities may be submitted to.
• Former permanent Providence staff must be separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler.
• Travelers can work for a maximum of one calendar year at the facility, followed by a minimum six-month break before returning.
• Hepatitis B vaccination is required; the facility does not accept titers or declinations.
• Housing options may be limited, so the candidate should research accommodation early.
• Training modules average 16 non-billable hours and must be completed before starting.
