Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing or progressive care unit experience required
- Active Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- EPIC experience required
- Strong neuro and stroke care experience preferred
- Experience with blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation, and heparin protocols
- Ability to work rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Must be comfortable with compliance and credentialing timelines
- 2 professional references required
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited RN program preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to adult PCU patients with stroke and neurological conditions
- Monitor and manage patients with CVA, intracranial bleeds, craniotomy, and post-TPA care needs
- Administer TNK and support care for lumbar drains and other neuro-related interventions
- Assess and respond to changes in patient condition in a fast-paced stepdown environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Support safe, evidence-based nursing care while maintaining strong documentation in EPIC
- Float to other units within the organization when needed
- Maintain a patient-centered approach while caring for med-surg and neurological patients
