Travel Registered Nurse – PCU / Stepdown
Location:Akron, OH
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12s | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Akron, Ohio. This position is ideal for RNs with strong acute care experience who are comfortable managing higher-acuity patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
The selected candidate will provide compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PCU/Stepdown patients
- Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and charting
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of recent PCU/Stepdown experience required
- Minimum 18 months of permanent acute care experience required prior to travel assignments
- Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience preferred
- Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
