Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting with 36 rooms/beds
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Floating required to units of equal acuity

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line care/management, and blood product administration
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care preferred
  • Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry remote monitoring
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team involvement
  • Care for patients with cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, and renal conditions including pre/post cardiac cath and surgery patients
  • Manage heparin protocols and cardiac drips without titration
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No travel pairs or groups accepted
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
