Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications and an active CA RN license.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Float required to other units as needed
• Weekend coverage required
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care and management
• Management of cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and PPE use
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry specialty within the past two years
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history
• Two supervisor references required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and manage central/peripheral lines
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous UC Irvine employees must be gone a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred
