Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and a Missouri or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry Short Stay unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population is 50% medical and 50% telemetry, adults only
• Patient ratios average 4-6:1 (estimates, not guaranteed)
• Night shift schedule, 4x12s, 1900-0700
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Floating to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Standard nursing equipment used on the telemetry unit
• EMR system is Epic
• Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri (Compact accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1 with no declinations accepted

Additional Information

• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Function within nursing scope of practice consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility guidelines
• Black scrubs required
• Candidates should expect to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Up to 5 days of requested time off per 13-week contract can be automatically approved, with additional time subject to leader approval and make-up requirements
• Unit manager will interview candidates within 24 hours of offer, with all offers subject to final manager approval
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate
