This position develops and conducts technical training programs to ensure the safe and effective performance of Field Training. Training includes both classroom and on-the-job training and would incorporate both conceptual and hands-on instructional methods. Responsibilities would also include participation in testing and evaluation of new tools, materials, and equipment, the ongoing revision and maintenance of standards and procedures, conducting of quality assurance audits and supervision evaluation and certification of field employees.
Essential Functions:
Works with field personnel and supervisors to analyze job tasks and current field performance to determine training needs and program content.
Effectively implements training programs and field quality audit programs.
Supervises, directs and instructs trainees during classroom, hands-on and on-the-job training assignments.
Evaluates performance to ensure all trainees are sufficiently trained to perform their assigned duties by reviewing and evaluating field and methods in refresher training.
Ensures that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Company standards and work methods including monitoring for a high quality of workmanship. Provides employee feedback and seeks to enhance performance and safety.
Directs efforts to achieve top quartile excellence regarding safe work practices and safety performance.
Promotes teamwork among and between all members of the electric distribution and transmission organizations and other internal groups.
New equipment and "Moment of Need" training at AWC's as needed.
Classroom and hands-on-training in the Wareham MA Training Yard to include:
Job Site Setup
Installation and removal of Underground cable and equipment
Splicing/Jointing/Terminating cable of various voltages and configurations.
Safe operation of switchgear.
Switching and tagging.
Yearly refresher training for qualified line-workers.
