Valves Sales Specialist
Location: 6525 Homestead Road, Houston, TX 77028
Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

The Dixon Group is looking for a Valves Sales Specialist to join our team. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated applicant to support the growth of our specialty valve business. This role combines inside sales responsibilities with customer-facing business development activities and will require travel to customer sites approximately 40–50% of the time. The successful candidate will bring experience in the specialty valve industry, a strong understanding of chemical and industrial markets, and the ability to develop relationships with end users, EPCs, contractors, and industrial customers. This individual will identify opportunities, provide technical and commercial support, and drive sales growth throughout the territory.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers in the chemical, industrial, refining, and processing markets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for Dixon's specialty valve product lines.
  • Visit customers, conduct sales presentations, and provide product recommendations.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification through quotation, negotiation, and order fulfillment.
  • Understand customer valve requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate quotations and customer support.
  • Maintain territory plans, sales forecasts, and customer activity records.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings as needed.
  • Support both outside sales activities and office-based customer service and sales functions.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of sales experience within the valve industry, specifically serving chemical, industrial, manufacturing, or process industry customers.
  • Deep understanding of specialty valves, valve applications, the industrial buying process, bid cycles, and pricing strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites 40–50% of the time.
  • Preferred prior experience working with a major valve distributor (e.g., Sunbelt Supply, DistributionNOW/DNOW, MRC Global, or similar).
  • Existing, established customer relationships within the Gulf Coast chemical and industrial markets is preferred.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of valve specifications, applications, and industry standards is highly preferred.
