Overview

A leading global investment bank is building out a strategic engineering team responsible for developing and supporting critical platform capabilities used across the organization. This group sits at the center of the engineering ecosystem, partnering with a variety of core teams within the firm.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing architecture, and working across a broad set of stakeholders. The team is open to both senior individual contributors and engineering leaders, but all candidates must maintain strong hands-on technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance enterprise-scale software platforms leveraged across multiple business and technology groups.
• Partner closely with cloud, infrastructure, AI/ML, data, and application engineering teams to deliver shared capabilities and services.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, technical strategy, and engineering best practices.
• Develop highly scalable and resilient systems using modern software engineering principles.
• Drive automation, platform improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership within project teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for platform modernization and innovation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong software development background in Python and/or Java.
• Experience building distributed systems, APIs, microservices, or large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern cloud-native architectures.
• Experience working with or supporting AI/ML, Generative AI, or data-driven platforms is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to operate in complex, highly regulated, or large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of software design, system architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across diverse technical teams.
