ABOUT THE ROLE
Roofing Angels is hiring a VP of Operations to take full ownership of our roofing production operations and lead the company through its next stage of growth. Reporting directly to ownership, you will run production scheduling, crew coordination, project execution, resource allocation, and operational performance across multiple crews and active jobsites in the Los Angeles area.
This role is for the operator who looks at a jammed production schedule and can't wait to fix it. We are not looking for someone who can simply maintain a schedule. We are looking for someone who can run an entire production operation with confidence, urgency, precision, and accountability.
AT A GLANCE
- Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year, based on experience
- Schedule: Full-time, in person in Los Angeles, CA
- Reports to: Ownership
- Language: Bilingual English/Spanish required
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Production Scheduling & Capacity
- Own the master production schedule across every active project, crew, material delivery, and inspection
- Build short- and long-term schedules that maximize crew utilization
- Line up labor, materials, equipment, permits, and project information before work begins
- Spot scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and labor constraints before they hit production
- Adjust quickly when plans change, without losing control of other active jobs
- Keep increasing capacity, reducing downtime, and shortening completion timelines
Operational Leadership & Problem Resolution
- Direct daily roofing production across multiple crews and active jobsites
- Make timely, well-informed decisions when priorities compete or problems hit
- Resolve several complex issues at once while keeping the broader schedule on track
- Find the root cause of recurring problems and implement lasting fixes
- Set priorities, delegate, and follow through without ongoing direction from ownership
- Bring leadership significant developments, risks, and your recommended solutions
Crew Management & Project Execution
- Lead production staff, subcontractors, and installation crews with clear expectations for workmanship, productivity, and communication
- Make sure crews have accurate scopes, materials, instructions, and schedules
- Step in promptly when quality, scheduling, or operational concerns come up
- Coordinate suppliers, project managers, and inspectors to prevent delays
- Drive inspections, correction notices, outstanding work, and closeouts to completion
- Build a professional, accountable, results-oriented production team
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Build systems that make roofing production consistent, efficient, and scalable
- Track crew utilization, turnaround times, production costs, labor efficiency, and bottlenecks
- Set clear performance expectations and measurable operational objectives
- Keep AccuLynx and other management systems accurate, timely, and complete
- Strengthen coordination between sales, production, scheduling, and leadership
- Streamline operations and remove inefficiencies to support continued growth
Production should run efficiently because you are leading it, not because someone is constantly reminding you what needs to be done.
WHO YOU ARE
- Scheduling is your superpower. You look at a complicated production schedule and immediately see the priorities, the conflicts, and the plan.
- You thrive under pressure. Multiple urgent issues don't overwhelm you. You stay organized, decide what matters most, and work the problem.
- You are exceptionally proactive. You see what needs to happen next and act before anyone asks.
- You have a relentless work ethic. You are dependable, engaged, and willing to put in what a demanding leadership role requires.
- You take ownership. No excuses, no passing problems along. You see every issue through to resolution.
- You are decisive. You evaluate the situation, make a sound call, and move forward without unnecessary delay.
- You are highly organized. Even with numerous active projects and shifting priorities, important details don't get missed.
- You hold people accountable. You set expectations, follow through, and address performance issues directly, starting with your own.
- You think beyond today. While running today's production, you are already planning tomorrow, next week, and the weeks ahead.
- You love operational leadership. Building efficient systems, beating hard problems, and seeing measurable improvement is what drives you.
We want someone who sets the pace, not someone who needs to be pushed to keep up with it.
