Location: Greater Chicago, IL

Work Model: Hybrid 3 days onsite

Base Salary: $140, 000 $160, 000

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a VP, Sr. Sales Director to lead a sales organization supporting a growing small-ticket equipment leasing business. This role will oversee a team of outside sales professionals and inside Relationship Managers, with responsibility for sales performance, team development, vendor relationships, profitability, and credit quality.

The ideal candidate may be either a sales leader or player/coach with strong experience in the small-ticket vendor and equipment leasing space.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of outside sales representatives and Relationship Managers.
  • Establish and manage sales goals, budgets, profitability, volume, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and strengthen vendor relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Credit, Operations, Customer Service, and Collections to support efficient deal execution and portfolio quality.
  • Develop sales strategies, market opportunities, vendor programs, and pricing initiatives.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop sales talent while managing performance and accountability.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing vendor relationships and develop new channels for business origination.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Sales and Credit.
  • Support training, process improvement, and overall sales strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor s degree required;advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant sales and management experience, preferably within equipment leasing or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of the small-ticket vendor/equipment leasing market.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team-development skills.
  • Strong business development and relationship-management capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Credit, Operations, Customer Service, and Collections.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Travel

Limited travel required, primarily for industry trade shows/conferences and approximately two trips per year with outside sales representatives.
