POSITION SUMMARY:
Welders use engineering drawings to build parts/equipment to the specifications on the drawings. This includes lay out, tack up, welding (GMAW and GTAW processes) and straightening as required to meet dimensional and quality specifications on material thickness of 20ga to 3/4" thick material. Welders will utilize additional tools such as clamps, pneumatic and electrical grinders, oxy-acetylene torches, etc. as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Level 1: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and beginning computer skills. Formal classes from college, trade school or military service helpful
Level 2: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and beginning computer skills. Formal classes from college, trade school or military service helpful. 1.5 to 2.5 years of industrial welding experience and skill as evidenced by weld demonstration testing.
Level 3: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and beginning computer skills. Formal classes from college, trade school or military service helpful. 2.5 to 3.5 years of industrial welding experience and skill as evidenced by weld demonstration testing.
Level 4: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and beginning computer skills. Formal classes from college, trade school or military service helpful. 4.5 to 5.5 years of industrial welding experience and skill as evidenced by weld demonstration testing.
Level 5: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and beginning computer skills. Formal classes from college, trade school or military service helpful. 6.5 to 7.5 years of industrial welding experience and skill as evidenced by weld demonstration testing.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blue prints and procedure manuals. Ability to write short routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, blue print or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
COMMENTS
All employees are required to wear eye and hearing protection at all times while in the manufacturing area. At all times use guards on grinders and a face shield while doing any type of grinding. Protective clothing provided by the company is to be worn at all times such as coveralls or shop jackets unless approved by management. Gloves must be worn at all times while welding. Either all leather shoes or boots must be worn at all times.

As a Welder, you will work in a dynamic, high-energy production environment to fabricate stainless steel equipment used in food processing. You will use blue-prints and engineering drawings to fit and weld assemblies and sub-assemblies.
Swing Shift offers a 4-day work week schedule and a shift differential equal to 15% additional pay!
