Interpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied • Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices • Perform moderately complex saw operations and painting as required • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers • Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers • Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions • Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements • Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition • Other duties as assigned.
