As an EHS Specialist III, you create chemistry by: • Leveraging your effective communication skills to develop strong working relationships with employees, the EHS community, and regulatory agencies • Utilizing your knowledge of Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental disciplines to develop and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures for the site • Drawing upon your experience in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental management, and Emergency Response program management in a manufacturing environment to lead and participate in risk assessments, accurately addressing identified deficiencies • Providing guidance - both tactically and strategically - to site leadership on critical EHS issues, ensuring adherence to corporate EHS policies and procedures, including the Responsible Care Management Systems • Creating training content and, where appropriate, delivering training or coaching, facilitating the sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and best practices across the BASF EHS organization • Prioritizing opportunities and issues to drive the continuous improvement of EHS processes and systems • Utilizing your strong organizational skills to identify and monitor key performance indicators within your area of responsibility, making necessary adjustments to improve EHS performance • Leading and participating in project reviews, process hazard analyses, and change management processes, ensuring all internal and external reporting requirements are met through your solid analytical and computer skills • Being a role model and collaborating with hourly employees to reinforce a culture of behavior-based safety and support emergency response activities • Working with and traveling to other sites to evaluate audit readiness and share best practices • Leading and/or participating in EHS work teams and/or task forces.
