Must possess a thorough knowledge of police administration and management principles and practices, including optimum use of human and material resources;Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the MNPD Policies and Procedures;Must possess a thorough knowledge, understanding and support of Tribal Sovereignty, and applicable local, state and federal laws, statutes and ordinances;Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the codes, laws, statutes and ordinances of the Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa;Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective, respectful and professional working relationships with subordinates, co-workers, supervisors, officials, community members and the general public;Must have the ability to analyze complex problems and determine effective, efficient resolutions;Must be of good moral character and of good standing in the community in which he or she lives. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of law enforcement experience, including three (3) years of administrative, management, and supervisory experience (may consider combination of education and experience demonstrating competencies equivalent to the degree requirement);Must be currently Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) or Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Certified as a Law Enforcement Officer with no breaks in employment; OR eligible for and receive reciprocity certification within one year of employment on the initial attempt.
