The Employee Health Specialist functions as an occupational health nurse for all employees, contract staff, volunteers, students, and physicians of Riverside Community Hospital by utilizing clinical expertise, decision making and independent judgement to assure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a thorough knowledge of the California Worker’s Compensation Labor Code, reporting requirements, OSHA determination and the use of judgement in the treatment, referral, authorization for certain tests/treatments and ongoing follow up care for a claim until closure.
