Job will also require participating in irrigation activities including laying pipe, walking length of irrigation pipe to puncture it at set intervals, setting up and operating irrigation equipment, clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivots, draining excess water from fields, monitoring fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops; changing combine cutting heads; loading seed into planters; properly mixing chemicals; loading chemicals into sprayers; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, fences, gates, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment including grain augers; regularly servicing equipment; receiving crop for drying and storage at grain drying facility; disposing of spoiled grain; transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating augers and grain conveying equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; and shoveling grain. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, grain carts, sprayers, combines, round module picker and stripper, forklifts, backhoes, balers, mowers, track hoes, ATVs, and side-by-sides.
