Grounds Maintenance includes but is not limited to: preparation, planting, mowing repair, replacement and renovation of ground covers, plants, shrubs, sidewalks, streets and lots; small tree removal and pruning; operation and maintenance of surface and sewer water systems as well as manual and computer based irrigation systems; use, operate, and maintain tools and equipment including tractors, mowers, snowplows, and material handling; operate and use moderate to heavy equipment in efficient safe manner; refuse and garbage maintenance; move and haul property as instructed; some limited brick and concrete work and maintenance of retaining walls; carry out all duties in safe and efficient manner consistent with University policies and procedures. Selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation; ability to tolerate constant or extreme noise, independently handle minimum 50 pounds; visual ability to operate equipment effectively and safely; hearing ability to hold conversations through earpiece and in person; speaking ability to effectively communication with other individuals; work environment is primarily outdoor.
