p>Under general supervision of the Chief of Campus Police, or designated ranking officer, performs security services for University facilities to protect property and ensure safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors by patrolling campus buildings, parking lots, and grounds to prevent losses and injuries due to accidents or incidents and responds to emergencies and/or staffs fixed security posts to monitor persons entering/leaving facilities and/or monitor security cameras and alarm systems. Acts in absence of the shift supervisor by supervising security officers of same or lower classifications (e.g., assigns and reviews work; trains new security officers; assures compliance with operating policies, procedures, and rules); performs related administrative functions (e.g., completes records and reports; prepares daily assignments and rosters; maintains other records as assigned, etc.).
