In addition, the ideal candidate will mentor junior machinists and apprentices, collaborate effectively with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production to improve manufacturability, actively support continuous improvement (e.g., 5S and lean practices), and leverage CAM tools such as Mastercam (2020 or higher), Vericut, Catia, and NX to enhance process robustness and repeatability. The candidate will select tooling and workholding, set and verify offsets, create, adjust and optimize CNC programs at the machine, and resolve common machining issues to protect quality, schedule, and cost.
