Rectifiers, pumps, hoists, filters, etc.) when necessary • Reads and interprets blueprints and customer work orders (Traveler) • Follows specific procedures to perform routine chemical plate operations on Defense, Medical and Aerospace parts • Fills baskets, racks, and/or barrels with parts to be coated or plated and immerse into cleaning solutions, or spray objects with conductive solutions to prepare them for plating • Grinds, polishes or rinses parts in water and dries parts • Inspects coated or plated areas for defects, such as air bubbles or uneven coverage • Follows specific procedures to adjust voltage, monitor time, determine thickness of coating etc., in order to brush plate a variety of parts with various metal • Removes excess materials or impurities from objects, using air hoses or grinding machines • Operates hoists to place workpieces onto machine feed carriages or spindles • Operates sandblasting equipment to roughen and clean surfaces of workpieces • Plates small objects, such as nuts or bolts, using motor-driven barrels • Visually inspects own work for quality of product. Requirements In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: • High school diploma or equivalent • Capable of working diligently around chemicals • Ability to perform basic arithmetic • Ability to pass an eye exam including a color-blind test • Strong attention to detail • Ability to work in a team environment • Willingness and commitment to wear PPE regularly, including: • Long sleeved chemical resistant gloves while changing chemicals • Safety goggles while on the shop floor • Chemical resistant safety aprons while working on the shop floor • Appropriately fitted respirator masks while changing chemicals • Chemical resistant gloves while changing chemicals • Long sleeved chemical resistant gloves while changing chemicals • Chemical resistant safety aprons while working on the shop floor • Appropriately fitted respirator masks while changing chemicals.
