Under the direction of the Managing Counsel, Pharmacy, this position is primarily responsible for: providing legal advice, support, and coordination on more complex legal matters or projects; providing legal advice on pharmacy benefit programs and management, insurance policies, self-funded accounts, government contracts, regulatory matters, general business matters and contracts, as well as health care law and insurance law; providing and initiating legal review, analysis, and research with respect to significant and complicated legal issues; representing the company in detailed or difficult litigation and administrative proceedings; representing the company in dealings with applicable regulatory bodies and government agencies; and providing advice and guidance to less experienced attorneys as required; and keeping abreast of all pertinent laws, trends, court rulings, etc., as they relate to areas of concern to management or to issues for which legal advice is provided. The ideal candidate will provide sound, actionable legal advice on regulatory and operational matters involving pharmacy program and pharmacy benefit management issues, and state and federal healthcare regulatory issues.
