4) Related Curriculum: successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be excepted in lieu of a degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. The position functions as the command's principal engineering authority and senior facilities engineering advisor responsible for supervising engineering and facilities planning personnel and directing engineering, construction, renovation, repair, infrastructure modernization, safety oversight, and facilities management activities supporting approximately 65 geographically dispersed facilities located throughout the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
