With a team of 1,000 professionals, the Division conducts outreach, education, surveillance, and enforcement across a wide range of areas, including environmental investigations, lead poisoning prevention, occupational health, injury prevention, food safety, childcare, radiation control, water and air quality, climate, vector control, veterinary public health, and pest management. The Office of Veterinary Public Health Services is dedicated to safeguarding the health of New York City residents and visitors by preventing animal-borne diseases and reducing related hazards and nuisances.
