Essential Job Functions: Answers incoming telephone calls; screens and directs calls to appropriate person; provides assistance and information within scope of responsibility and knowledge; greets and logs in offenders and other visitors to the office; directs them to proper destination or appropriate person for assistance; monitor for proper operation and maintain fire, panic, security and surveillance video tapes and equipment; receives and signs for parcels and other deliveries; creates and compiles reports, data bases, and other documents as needed; makes mail delivery to the courthouse; picks up and distributes mail from the courthouse; opens, date stamps, and distributes all incoming postal mail; enters data in computer; receives probation payments from offenders and enters payment data into the computer; balances cash drawer, and prepares bank deposit. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of accepted office practices and procedures; excellent verbal communication skills, including knowledge of telephone etiquette and a pleasant speaking voice; written communication skills; accurate typing skills and should be able to type 35 wpm; data entry and basic computer skills; math calculation skills; good interpersonal skills to answer telephone, greet probationers and other visitors, interact and cooperate with co-workers and deal effectively with the general public.
