Oversees all requirements for each program, including the issuance of compliance schedules, and assists with enforcement as neededLeads a team that inspects backflow, FOG, and stormwater facilities, and maintains the database for each program in accordance with local, state, and federal lawsResponds to inquiries and complaints related to all programsParticipates in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, and policiesParticipates in making decisions regarding the implementation of policiesParticipates in the annual budget process for each programReviews plans and drawings, providing input to the Environmental Services Manager regarding the construction and installation of backflow prevention devices, grease collection systems, and erosion controlLeads, plans, and develops educational material for each program for utility customers on a regular scheduleDelivers monthly reports to the Environmental Services Manager (or more frequently if needed) and semi-annual updates for each program to the Assistant Department Director and other key members of leadershipServes as the field liaison for the Utility department to other divisions, departments, and outside agenciesInterfaces with other agencies with which the City jointly operatesRepresents the City at staff functions, meetings, and workgroups as neededAssists with negotiating and resolving sensitive and controversial issuesAttends and participates in professional group meetings, staying abreast of new trends and innovations in the field related to each programAlerts the Environmental Services Manager when regulatory changes may impact the department's operations and budgetInitiates needed correspondence with regulatory agenciesPrepares and presents staff reports and other necessary correspondenceFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned. TCEQ issued Customer Service Inspection (CSI) licenseBackflow Prevention Assembly Testing (BPAT) license or ability to obtain within two (2) years of employmentComplete Grease Trap and Interceptor Training and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Training courses.
