<div>STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Composite Technicians in Waco, Texas.<h3>Position Summary</h3>STS Technical Services is seeking experienced Aircraft Composite Technicians to support aircraft maintenance and repair operations in Waco, Texas. This role supports composite fabrication, structural repair, and assembly work within an FAA-regulated aerospace maintenance environment.You will work closely with Aircraft Leads, Maintenance Supervisors, and the Director of Maintenance to ensure all composite work is completed in accordance with approved technical data, customer requirements, and FAA regulations.<h3>Job Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Comply with FAA, DOT, FAR, DFARs, and applicable CFR Part 14 requirements</li><li>Participate in and successfully complete FAA and DOT drug and alcohol testing programs, including random testing</li><li>Research and interpret technical data, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and work instructions</li><li>Fabricate composite aircraft parts, accessories, and trim components using approved methods and procedures</li><li>Cut fiberglass, Kevlar, and graphite materials using templates, blueprints, and appropriate tools</li><li>Label materials and prepare composite kits for laminating processes</li><li>Perform vacuum bagging operations including setup of bleeder cloths, probes, thermocouples, and vacuum connections</li><li>Verify vacuum integrity and perform leak checks prior to curing</li><li>Trim, drill, deburr, grind, sand, and finish cured composite parts to specification</li><li>Pre-fit and assemble composite components into assemblies and subassemblies using jigs, fixtures, and fasteners</li><li>Perform cold and hot metal bonding as required</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English</li><li>Experience performing composite fabrication and repair in an aerospace environment</li><li>Familiarity with FAA-regulated maintenance practices</li><li>A&P Certification preferred but not required</li></ul><h3>About STS Technical Services</h3>STS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with leading organizations across aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, defense, and industrial sectors. We're seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance Technician, based in Waco, Texas, to support our Product team and collaborate with our Engineering team. What You'll Do <ul><li>Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of turboprop and light jet aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures. </li><li>Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and replace aircraft systems, structures, and components to ensure airworthiness and compliance with approved data. </li><li>Accurately document all maintenance activities in compliance with FAA, company, and customer requirements, ensuring complete, legible, and traceable records. </li><li>Research aircraft records to develop and maintain a maintenance status board for each aircraft, including inspection, overhaul, and compliance status. </li><li><ul><li>Maintain organized and concise aircraft, engine, and propeller logbooks. </li><li>Create and update aircraft maintenance status sheets. </li></ul></li><li>Assist with or perform removal and installation of engines, landing gear, flight controls, and related components, ensuring proper inspections, torque verification, and documentation. </li><li>Collaborate within an integrated maintenance, avionics, and engineering team environment. </li><li>Support aircraft return-to-service processes and work with inspection personnel to resolve discrepancies and complete corrective actions. </li><li>Ensure proper use, control, and care of tools, parts, and equipment in accordance with calibration and tool control procedures. </li><li>Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental procedures, reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with the Safety Management System (SMS) and Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). </li></ul>Supporting Responsibilities<ul><li>Work with team to perform and understand Blackhawk new-engine upgrade installations on a variety of single and twin-engine turboprop aircraft. </li><li>Travel domestically and internationally to provide on-site engine installation support and customer training. </li><li><ul><li>Serve as a professional Blackhawk ambassador, demonstrating positive attitude, technical expertise, and strong customer engagement. </li></ul></li><li>Support maintenance and airframe/engine projects at Blackhawk's Waco R&D and certification facility on both standard and experimental aircraft in support of STC development and customer upgrades. </li><li>Assist in expanding and managing Blackhawk's PMA parts capabilities, including in-house fabrication and coordination with external vendors. </li></ul>What You Bring to the Table<ul><li>FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate </li><li>Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred, not required </li><li>Progressive aviation maintenance leadership experience </li><li>Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and safety mindset </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance technical team </li></ul> Be part of something bigger.
