Essential Functions: Works with and maintains a wide variety of trees; Under general supervision, uses comprehensive knowledge to perform work associated with the planting, care and maintenance, and removal of trees on City-owned property, parks, and rights-of-way; Operates various equipment and tools which are used for daily tree work projects; Prunes and maintains trees on City property, parks, and rights-of-way; Performs planting, transplanting, watering, fertilization, and mulching projects; Loads and unloads all equipment for transporting to work sites; Inspects and prepares equipment for safe and proper operation prior to beginning work; Performs other work as required. Skill in: Tree maintenance; Completing (or willing to learn) labor, trades, construction, and/or repair projects; Using applicable tools and equipment related to area of assignment; Performing trades maintenance activities; Reading blueprints, schematic drawings, and/or construction drawings; Applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations; Monitoring and maintaining inventory; Maintaining records; Using a computer and related software applications; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with subordinates, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc.
