Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent service as a Plant Utilities Engineer 1, SG-14, or higher,ORTwo years of permanent service as a Plant Utilities Assistant, SG-9,ORFour years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC, or auxiliary plant utilities equipment in commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities NOTE: Thirty (30) college credit hours in any combination of the following course areas may be substituted for one year of the above mentioned experience: Heating, Ventilation Boiler and Steam Systems and Air Conditioning Industrial Electricity; Electrical Circuits Electric Utility Systems; Fluid Mechanics Plant Operation and Technical Communications Maintenance; Thermal Dynamics Industrial Instrumentation; Physics and Control; Utility Refrigeration Industrial Safety; Mechanics Environmental Air Quality; and, Blue Print Reading and Sketching. Responsible for the operation and maintenance, as well as the tests and calibrations of all electrical components, including high voltage electrical distribution systems and equipment and emergency diesel power generation systems for critical building components at the direction of the Plant Utilities Engineer 4.Maintains uninterrupted power supply system for critical building components; and other building systems including, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, hot water, plumbing, refrigeration, compressed air, laboratory vacuum systems, water purification, laboratory gas systems and lines, building and evidence security and monitoring systems, as well as fire detection and sprinkler structures.
