DEPARTMENT: TRANSPORTATIONPOSITION: TRUCK DRIVERWORK RESPONSIBILITIES:The duties of the Truck Driver as determined by SunEnergy1 standards are to include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Responsible for transporting cargo from one place to another using tractor-trailer trucks or other company owned vehicles as needed</li><li>Operate trucks with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds gross vehicle weight</li><li>Deliver cargo while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes, intrastate</li><li>Load and unload cargo</li><li>Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order</li><li>Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel</li><li>Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road</li><li>Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion</li><li>Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking; get cargo to site on time, safely</li><li>Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs</li><li>Follow all applicable traffic laws</li><li>Perform pre-trip inspections and record any defects found</li><li>Keep a daily log of activities</li><li>Record amount and type of cargo being delivered</li><li>Transport hazardous materials</li></ul>WORK REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Valid CDL Class-A license required</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle</li><li>Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred</li><li>Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations</li><li>Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations</li><li>No recent moving or driving violations</li><li>Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly</li><li>Ability to multi-task</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Must be able to relate to people</li><li>Must have the ability to work individually or as a team</li><li>Must be self-motivated</li><li>Must be well organized and detail oriented</li></ul>
