Responsible for the overall management of project planning, design and permitting phases for larger scale projects with emphasis on professional services procurement and contract management and overall management of project schedule, budget, design quality, value engineering, sustainability, and customer interface; and/or to serve as construction manager responsible for overall construction contract procurement and management for larger scale projects with emphasis on contractor coordination, safety, schedule management, change order negotiation, inspections, pay requests, and project closeout. The Building Design and Construction Division is an award-winning organization responsible for implementing all major building, renovation and major capital renewal projects identified in the Fairfax County Capital Improvement Program, including fire stations, libraries, courts, police stations, office buildings, maintenance facilities, parking structures, human services facilities and other major infrastructure and public-private partnership projects.
