Duties and Responsibilities: Applies expert / leader level knowledge of one or more of the following skills and has a working knowledge of most of the remainder, i.e., electric and gas welding, black smithing, rigging, pipe fitting, hydrolytic, diesel, and other internal combustion engines, machine tool setup and operation, sheet metal layout and working, heavy and light machinery repair, construction, maintenance and installation. Under the general supervision of the Mine Maintenance Manager and the direct supervision of the Mine Maintenance Foreman, Mine Mechanic A does expert level troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, repair, and construction work in the mine to maintain the efficiency and longevity of equipment, minimizing downtime and contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
