Clinical and academic competency is defined as completing training and meeting all clinical responsibilities to all areas assigned, ability to work unsupervised in the clinical setting, willingness to rotate to all areas as the need arises, and holding appropriate licensure and advanced certification, as required by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), the ACR (American College of Radiology), and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The CT technologist is responsible for all technical aspects of the exam which includes scanning the exam, reviewing the data, performing multi-plane reconstructions (MPR's), performing 3D reconstructions, performing exams in a safe and timely fashion while producing quality images, and evaluating images for correct positioning and overall quality.
