Job Title: Medical Assistant Profession: Certified Medical Assistant Specialty: Clinic Duration: Varies Shift: Varied 12 hours Hours per Shift: 7:45 AM - 8:15 PM and 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current BLS Certification Certifications: BLS Must-Have: High school graduate or equivalent (i.e., GED) Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by a recognized accrediting organization, OR Graduate of a Registered Medical Assistant program accredited by a national health services organization with on-the-job experience and passing the RMA Certification exam. Dependent upon the specialty and clinic location, the Medical Assistant may provide telephone support, facilitate communication between customers and providers, assist with prescription refills, perform x-ray duties if qualified, conduct phlebotomy duties, perform clinic laboratory tests, provide front desk or check-in support, order and stock supplies, and assist with prior authorizations.
