In collaboration with Surgical Oncology (Endocrine Surgery) attending physician(s), the NP/PA performs triage, physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies, diagnostic procedures and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, coordinates the care of patients, and provides direct patient care services. While the weekly schedule may vary based on operative volume, patient needs, and service coverage, the anticipated schedule will generally include: 1-2 operating room days per week, participating directly in surgical cases as a first assistant or performing other delegated operative responsibilities.
