This includes ensuring that the Department of Housing and Community Affairs, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the County's economic development partners develop and carry out racial equity and social justice action plans, that racial equity and social justice impact statements accompany legislation, budget requests, and major program initiatives within the portfolio, and that housing, transportation, environmental, and economic development investments and services measurably reduce racial and economic disparities — consistent with the County's Racial Equity and Social Justice Act. Contacts include the County Executive, Chief Administrative Officer, elected County Councilmembers and their senior staff, department and agency directors, division chiefs, officials from other government jurisdictions, corporate officers representing private sector companies, and representatives of public and private groups for the purpose of presenting, justifying, or defending policies and issues affecting the County Government.
