Title: Superintendent - DatacenterLocations: Hubbard, TXJob Summary:The Superintendent’s role is to effectively monitor, direct, and coordinate all field operations for a specific area of discipline, a given trade, or an entire project, as assigned. Works with project management and engineers to form an effective management team, overseeing safety, schedule, quality of work and budget for the project. The Superintendent must be an exceptional leader and communicator and will serve as a mentor to junior-level team members.Primary Duties:<ul><li>Coordinating work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors and/or directing the work of all trades assigned to a construction work site.</li><li>Coordinating and scheduling the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating to and through project staff to deliver instructions and project assignments as appropriate.</li><li>Conducting preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors before beginning each phase of work.</li><li>Planning manpower and personnel needs onsite.</li><li>Leading toolbox talks/briefings.</li><li>Providing management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members.</li><li>Providing oversight on facilitating equipment for the project site (cranes, trailers, trucks, etc.)</li><li>Overseeing weekly work activities for trade crews.</li><li>Utilizing project contract documents, specifications, and drawings.</li><li>Developing and maintaining the site logistics plan for the project.</li><li>Developing scopes of work for trades.</li><li>Performing constructability reviews.</li><li>Evaluating field progress against the “plan,” developing recovery plans, if necessary.</li><li>Leading preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors before beginning each phase of work.</li><li>Managing the completion of project close-out.</li><li>Managing punch list items and procedures.</li><li>Leading meetings to coordinate work.</li><li>Participating in owners’ meetings.</li><li>Participating in the development and management of a CPM schedule to include short-term look ahead to ensure trades are appropriately engaged in project execution.</li><li>Reviewing and verifying quantity takeoffs and materials management process during the buyout process for specific scopes of work.</li><li>Tracking project phase completion against milestones.</li><li>Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Principles.</li><li>Follow Yates Code of Conduct.</li><li>Safety Responsibilities and Expectations.</li><li>Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices.</li><li>Report all incidents, near hits and hazards to management.</li><li>Required to wear and maintain personal PPE.</li><li>Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations.</li><li>Participate in workplace inspections.</li><li>Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.</li><li>Participate in required and/or assigned training.</li><li>Provide suggestions to improve Safety.</li><li>Present a mature approach to working safely.</li><li>Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.</li><li>Assists with administering the site safety program as required and ensuring Trade Partner compliance with OSHA standards and Yates Site Specific Requirements and all applicable safety codes and regulations.</li><li>Other related duties as needed and assigned by the Project Management in support of the successful completion of the project.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>An undergraduate University degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field) is desirable.</li><li>Other relevant education, training or work experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree.</li><li>Minimum of six (6) years’ industry experience.</li><li>Experience managing a scope of work valued over $1MM.</li><li>Strong understanding of planning and scheduling.</li><li>Strong understanding of business and/or financial principles to project and monitor expenses.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.</li><li>Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, technical manuals, product/material installation instructions and engineering/architectural drawings.</li></ul>Competencies:<ul><li>Mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of Assistant Superintendent(s) and Foremen.</li><li>Fostering and enhancing owner, architect, subcontractor, and vendor relations.</li><li>Ensuring strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements throughout the project.</li><li>Proficient time management skills.</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Business Acumen</li><li>Adaptability</li><li>Critical Thinking</li><li>Problem Solving</li><li>Decision Making</li><li>Strategy</li><li>Leadership</li><li>Financial Acumen</li></ul>Physical Demands/Essential Job Functions:This job description reflects an assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
