This critical role will lead the organization's board-level and external financial reporting processes, drive the month-end close, and deliver clear, insightful financial narratives to senior leadership and stakeholders. The organization is focused on operational excellence, financial discipline, and scalable processes to support expansion.<hr/><h3>Position Summary</h3>The Accounting Manager will serve as the senior accounting leader, reporting directly to the CFO. This is a high-impact role responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, improving processes, and supporting operational decision-making. The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with FRF for SMEs and/or GAAP, and act as the primary accounting point of contact.<hr/><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes</li><li>Drive process improvements to reduce close timelines and increase efficiency</li><li>Oversee all accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll, and Purchasing</li><li>Supervise and develop accounting team workflows and performance</li><li>Manage bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and cash postings</li><li>Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings through third-party providers</li><li>Provide hands-on support in AR and AP during departmental transition periods</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for financial reporting, including lender, surety, and prequalification requirements</li><li>Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls to support audit readiness</li><li>Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules</li><li>Manage progress billings and maintain ownership of the AR function</li><li>Address internal accounting issues and provide strategic guidance to leadership</li><li>Improve systems, reporting, and ERP functionality, with a focus on automation and process optimization</li><li>Ensure compliance with lien laws, including filing notices, retainage tracking, and bond claims/releases</li><li>Oversee retainage tracking and reconciliation in accordance with applicable regulations</li></ul><hr/><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance</li><li>7 + years of progressive accounting experience within commercial construction</li><li>Strong knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting</li><li>Experience managing audit preparation and external audits</li><li>Solid understanding of lien laws, retainage, and monthly notice requirements</li><li>Experience with construction-focused ERP systems</li><li>Familiarity with tools such as Procore, Textura, GC Pay, Levelset, or similar platforms</li><li>Proven leadership, organizational, and team development skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to operate in a hands-on, high-accountability environment</li></ul><hr/><h3>Compensation & Benefits</h3><ul><li>Base salary: $115,000 – $140,000 depending on experience</li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (company covers 60% of monthly premiums)</li><li>3 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO)</li><li>Paid holidays</li><li>Strong emphasis on work-life balance and sustainable workload</li></ul>#ZR#LI-KN1#IND2
