We seek candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas who will complement other hires across the cluster, including faculty working in human imaging, computational neuroscience, rehabilitation, systems neuroscience, and neurobiology: Neural interfaces and implantable neurotechnology , including electrode and sensor design, biocompatible materials, high-channel-count recording and stimulation, and—building on BU’s strengths in neurophotonics—integrated nanophotonic and optoelectronic probes that combine optical stimulation with electrophysiological recording. Spanning biology, biomedical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, health sciences, mathematics and statistics, and psychological and brain sciences, the cluster draws on BU’s strengths in neuroscience, engineering, computation, and AI to pursue transformative research questions, advance our understanding of neural information processing, and develop new approaches to neurological and psychiatric disease.
