DEFINITION: Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Facilities Maintenance Manager plans, organizes, directs, develops, and coordinates the programs and activities of facilities and infrastructure maintenance, including construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair of buildings, yards, shops, transit centers, bus stops, security systems, fueling and charging infrastructure, and a centralized warehouse; develops and manages contracts and service agreements with vendors, contractors, and consultants; and performs other duties as assigned. Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, industrial safety rules and regulations, and Santa Cruz METRO policies and procedures applied to a public transportation system and workplace safety including facility and infrastructure construction, asset management, building and fire safety, accessibility, stormwater, permitting, warehouse, and state of good repair; and methods for safely and legally handling, storing, and disposing hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
