The museum, opened in 2006 and expanded in 2018, offers nearly 60,000 square feet of exhibition space to showcase its collection of more than 1300 works by 200 contemporary artists. With its expansion, Glenstone now has the ability to welcome 100,000 visitors each year, and admission is always free.<br/></div><div><br/></div><b>Position Overview </b><div><br/></div><div>Reporting to the Cafe Supervisor, the Cafe Attendant provides direct customer service to our visitors in two locations on-site at Glenstone. This includes front-of-house preparations, customer service, and clean up, as well as table service, counter-top, and barista service. As a member of the Cafe team, the Cafe Attendant is expected to exceed expectations and provide meaningful engagement with our visitors. They should be available 3-4 days per week during Glenstone s current operating days of Thursday-Sunday. This position is from April 8th, 2025 to September 7th, 2025. They must be available to work until 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays for Glenstone s Summer Evenings. Initial training will take place on four pre-designated days per week for a minimum of 2-weeks.<br/></div><div><br/></div><div>Cafe Attendants seat visitors, take orders and special requests using a point-of-sale system, make coffee drinks and other beverages, while also serving, clearing, and contributing to a welcoming environment for our visitors and staff. The Cafe Attendant also supports the culinary team in the kitchen with basic food preparation, cleaning, dish and pot washing, and maintaining daily maintenance and production logs.<br/></div><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><b>Key Responsibilities</b></div><ul><li>Be responsive to the Cafe Supervisor, Food & Beverage Manager, and Chef to optimize customer service, resource management, safety, and sanitation.<br/></li><li>Work together with the Cafe team to service multiple venues.<br/></li><li>Take orders from visitors and use point-of-sale software and hardware.<br/></li><li>Wash and maintain dishes, glasses, flatware, as well as work areas, coffee machines, table appointments, linens, and equipment.<br/></li><li>Assist with basic food preparation.<br/></li><li>Assist with basic cleaning and sanitation standards.<br/></li><li>Prepare venues for the next service.<br/></li><li>Enforce HACCP sanitation as well as allergen awareness guidelines.<br/></li><li>The work schedule is during our visitor cycle of Thursday-Sunday from April 8th, 2025, to September 7th, 2025.<br/></li><li>Able to work a part-time schedule, three to four days per week (including Saturdays and Sundays) with varying shift start and end times.<br/></li><li>Ability to work until 9:00p.m. on Saturdays for Glenstone s summer evenings.<br/></li><li>Perform other related duties as required.<br/></li></ul><div><div><br/></div><b>Desired Attributes & Characteristics</b><div><br/></div><div>We are looking for experienced, articulate, professional servers with strong presentation skills who can engage visitors in a manner consistent with Glenstone's visitor experience guidelines. The successful candidate will be sensitive and responsive to visitors needs including dietary preferences, restrictions, intolerance, and allergies, and will be able to make informed accommodations.
