n\n \nMinimum Qualifications\n\n Associate's Degree from an accredited college with course work in, sports management, recreation and parks administration, or closely related field which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities,\n \n\n Five (5) years of experience in tennis operational activities and associated facility administration, \n \n\n Experience with other recreational and/or leisure time activities in addition to Tennis is a plus,\n \n\n At least two (2) of the five (5) years at a supervisory level,\n \n\n Possession of and ability to maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License is required,\n \n\n Requires CPR/AED certifications within six (6) months of hire,\n \n\n Certification from the U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), preferred.\n \n\n \nJob Based Competencies\n\n Ability to interact well with patrons, vendors, and staff while maintaining a professional, courteous, attentive, and friendly demeanor.\n \n\n A practical knowledge of the sport of tennis and best modern practices in tennis facility operations.\n \n\n A thorough understanding of the operation of a municipal tennis center with food and beverage service is essential.\n \n\n Knowledge of City and Payne Park Tennis Center regulations, rules, and procedures to maintenance and operation of all aspects of the municipal tennis center.\n \n\n Considerable knowledge of the current trends, principals, and practices of tennis, with emphasis in initiating, planning, developing, and executing specialized tennis activities and other programs at a municipal tennis center.\n \n\n Considerable knowledge of facilities and supplies required to carry out tennis programs and special events.\n \n\n Maintains tennis staff time and work records in the City's timekeeping system, frequently reviewing and correcting discrepancies, and prepares bi-weekly payroll for approval.\n \n\n Ensures adherence to City, Department, and Tennis Center policies, procedures, and practices.\n \n\n Interacts with diverse levels of internal and external personnel to develop and maintain effective communication to resolve issues and inquiries.\n \n\n Holds weekly or bi-weekly staff meetings and daily staff briefings to exchange information on current duties, projects, department, and employment topics.\n \n\n Works closely with all staff, attending meetings, seeking input on policies and guidelines prior to implementation, and being cognizant of deadlines and budgetary constraints.\n \n\n Maintains courteous relationships with the public, vendors, contractors, and anyone served by the Tennis Center and tactfully, consistently, and efficiently respond to complaints, concerns, and issues that may arise.\n
