Boat Captains will navigate guests through an 11-acre flooded limestone mine via a 20-foot electric boat. Captains share their knowledge and love for the Red River Gorge, wildlife, and the Gorge Underground! About Us We are a touring company with a passion for education and adventure! On tour, participants will learn and experience:<ul><li>100 years of mining history</li><li>Animal life including rainbow trout, salamanders, and bats</li><li>Millions of years of geologic history, various rocks</li><li>An underground spring/waterfall from the ceiling</li></ul> Responsibilities: <ul><li>Greet and welcome guests</li><li>Explain safety policies and procedures  </li><li>Ensure guests have appropriate equipment </li><li>Lead 4+ tours daily with consistent enthusiasm and energy </li><li>Assist guests on a variety of topics, including concerns, comfort, and equipment issues </li><li>Prepare tour materials</li><li>Stay current on company developments and relevant area news to bolster guest's tour experience  </li><li>Follow all established safety guidelines and ensure that guests remain within designated areas </li><li>Record and report any unusual incidents or violations of safety guidelines</li><li>Maintain and sanitize equipment after every use</li><li>Stay on schedule/time during tours and adjust as necessary</li></ul> Requirements <ul><li>MUST be 21+ yrs. of age and able to work on weekends and maintain a flexible schedule (nights, holidays)</li><li>High School diploma or equivalent</li><li>Able to pass a background check</li><li>Certified CPR/First Aid training (if not, we can provide)</li><li>Strong public speaking and presentation skills</li><li>Superb written and verbal communication skills</li><li>A dynamic, can-do personality </li><li>Strong customer service skills</li><li>Demonstrated professionalism </li><li>Punctual team player with an ability to improvise and be charismatic</li></ul>
