His/her responsibilities include both in clinic procedures, managing the Outpatient Heart Center clinic flow as well as assisting with insurance authorization and prior medication authorizations, contacting home health companies, assuring DME and other home supplies are adequate, assisting with medication refill requests, patient teaching and assisting in the overall coordination of timely patient care. Under general supervision, guided by the policies and procedures of the Medical Center and Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with providers and administrative management, the Ambulatory Pediatric Heart Center Nurse works autonomously, utilizing the nursing process, to assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate patient care within the ambulatory setting.
