The patient population consists of critically ill patients that have undergone cardiac surgical interventions including, but not limited to, coronary artery bypass, valve replacements and repairs, Type A aortic dissections, heart or lung transplantation, mechanical circulatory support device implantation including LVAD/RVAD (Heartmate II or III, Heartware, Centrimag), and ECMO (veno-venous and veno-arterial).
