The ED RN Care Manger is responsible for ensuring patients being placed in observation or admitted to the hospital as inpatient from the ED are in the correct patient class using MCG/Indcia guidelines, The ED CM is also responsible for supporting hospital units for afterhours/late arrangements for transfers to HLOC, SNF, late HH arrangements, and the appeals process. The role requires excellent communication skills with patient/families, nursing staff, physicians, and other providers, critical thinking skills, ability to multi-task, and learn/master electronic applications such as Repisodic, PASRR, Indicia, EPIC, and the ability to work autonomously.
