May perform any of the following depending on assigned area: a) performs general grounds keeping in the maintenance of the exterior of assigned City facilities (including lift stations/parks/ ball fields/play grounds) and properties including, but not limited to, mowing grass, trimming trees and shrubs, installing landscape materials, and removing weeds and debris; b) assists with clean-up operations after hurricanes and other inclement weather; c) performs custodial work including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, buffing and waxing floors, cleaning carpets, cleaning restrooms and offices, cleaning glass surfaces, and removing trash; d) sets up meeting rooms and facilities for events; e) may lock/unlock facilities and arm/disarm alarm systems; f) changes light bulbs; f) sweeps streets; g) obtains; h) puts up signs; i) handles traffic flow; and/or j) collects and disposes of trash/refuse. Depending on assigned area, may be exposed to construction, water/wastewater, and other site hazards including, but not limited to, bright/dim lights, dust/pollen, intense noise, vibration, fumes/noxious odors, toxic/caustic chemicals, electrical shock, heights of 70 feet or more, disease/pathogens, traffic, and moving machinery.
