Under the direction of the Automotive Pool Manager II or designee, the duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to operate and service passenger vehicles, trucks, small-wheeled tractors, and similar motor equipment; general laboring work; may instruct, lead or supervise wards or resident workers; operates, services, washes, and makes minor adjustments and repairs to passenger vehicles, trucks, small-wheeled tractors, and other automotive equipment; transports passengers; loads, unloads, and delivers laundry, food, furniture, freight, farm products, gravel, rubbish, and other materials; performs miscellaneous manual laboring work and messenger service; keeps simple records, and other related work. The commitment categories of patients treated at DSH-Metropolitan: Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act, Incompetent to Stand Trial (PC 1370), Offenders with Mental Health Disorders (Penal Code Section 2964/2972/2974), Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (PC 1026).
